Topics to be discussed on TCRE Blogs include Community, Economic, and Business Development.  Some issues may overlap categories, but entries will be placed in what seems to be the most appropriate location according to the author.  These categories correspond to those used to characterize TLI workshops so comments, questions and additional information can be linked to specific workshop topics. 

Comments and posts from followers are welcome.  Responses to questions and comments submitted to TCRE through the Comment Form will receive responses by email as well as being addressed in a Blog post.

This is a platform for presenting and discussing issues, challenges, solutions and other topics related to Community, Economic, Business and Leadership Development. This is not a site for selling products or services unless it appears that they are directly relevant to providing valuable assistance to entrepreneurs. It is not a site for free commercial advertisements either. Selected posts will be deleted by administrators when identified and deemed inappropriate for our target audience.

Last week was an exciting one as I had the opportunity to visit with a wide variety of business owners and future business owners in the West Texas Innovation Network region (centered around Abilene, TX).  Each day I did a workshop from 1:00-4:30 pm for new or early stage business owners and from 5:00-8:30 pm for owners of existing businesses.  Monday I was in Snyder, Tuesday in Sweetwater, Wednesday I moved to Brownwood and Thursday found me in Haskell.  Many of the participants were serious enough to sit through both sessions.  We discussed many of the first few steps of the venture development process in the early session.  This included identifying ideas and opportunities, developing value propositions and business models and feasibility analysis.  The se ... Just spent a couple of days this week attending Austin RISE entrepreneurship seminars. This is an outstanding program now in its fifth year. All programs are free and create so much value it is almost overwhelming at times. I will share what I have learned over the next several weeks. Posts to social networks and the TCRE Blog are expected to become much more frequent.

I found this to be an interesting look at women entrepreneurs...discussion of how women approach business differently from men and the unique hurdles they face in starting and growing businesses.  Appeared in the Kauffman Foundation Ideas at Work newsletter which I would encourage everyone to subscribe to for the latest entrepreneurship ideas.
